Profusely illustrated with photographs in color. A few short tears in the jacket and a light indentation in the jacket cover and the book. The author, a military historian, collector and dealer, cataogues the 255 shoulder arms made by the now defunct armory. Very good/good or better.

A history of the Smith & Wesson hand guns including illustrations and detailed descriptions of each model. From the foreword: "Walter F. Roper laid the foundation of the book with data covering the period from 1857 to 1920. This appears in the appendix and was collected by him while employed by Smith & Wesson. He also wrote the final chapter of the text. Smith & Wesson supplied the data in the appendix, covering the period form 1920 down to date and Roy C. McHenry wrote the remainder of the text.".
